Since September 2002, Opening Ceremony have redefined streetwear and ready-to-wear fashion from influences of their childhood. Growing up in The Valley, California, amongst predominantly immigrant families, diversity was celebrated. You can see where their childhood inspirations have transcended into their collections, such as the rose motif, which pays homage to the 'Tournament of Roses' a festival in which co-directors Carole Lim and Humberto Leon visited in their youth. You can also sense the California Psych Surf culture, a theme consistently running through many collections of Opening Ceremony.

From their experience of growing up in The Valley, Lim and Leon respect the importance of safety in their community and environment. Knowing that their upbringing shaped who they are, this collection pays respect to Americans representing these values of progress.
